FAQ

1. How do I book a photo session with you?
Start by filling out the contact form and telling me a little about what you have planned. I’ll get back to you to confirm availability, answer any questions, and help determine which package best fits what you’re looking for. Once we’ve finalized the details and your booking requirements are completed, your date will be officially reserved
2. How does proposal photography work?
Every proposal is a little different, so we’ll plan everything together beforehand. We’ll discuss the location, timing, where you’ll be positioned, and how I can photograph the moment without giving away the surprise. I’ll arrive early and stay out of sight as much as possible so the proposal can unfold naturally. Once they say yes, I’ll introduce myself and we can move into a relaxed portrait session together.
3. Can you help me plan my proposal?
Absolutely. You don’t need to have every detail figured out before reaching out. I can help with location ideas, timing, lighting, positioning, and creating a simple plan for the proposal itself. The goal is to make sure everything feels natural while putting you in the best possible position for great photographs.
4. How do you keep the proposal a surprise?
Discretion is one of the most important parts of photographing a proposal. Before the day, we’ll create a clear plan so you know exactly where to go and what to do without needing to communicate with me during the moment. I’ll position myself somewhere that allows me to capture everything while blending into the surroundings as much as possible.
5. What happens after the proposal?
After the proposal and a few moments together, I’ll introduce myself and give you both a chance to take everything in. From there, depending on your package, we’ll take a collection of natural and lightly guided portraits together. I keep the posing relaxed so the photographs still feel like you rather than overly staged.
6. What if the weather is bad?
Weather can be unpredictable, especially when a proposal has already been planned for a specific day. Light rain or changing conditions don’t necessarily mean we need to cancel, and sometimes they can create beautiful photographs. If the weather looks severe or would significantly affect the session, we’ll discuss the available options and determine the best way to move forward
7. How long does it take to receive my photos?
Your photographs will be carefully selected and individually edited before being delivered through a private online gallery. Your exact turnaround time will be outlined when booking so you’ll know when to expect your completed gallery.
8. How many photos will I receive?
The number of photographs depends on the package you choose. Rather than delivering every photograph taken, I carefully select the strongest images that best tell the story of your proposal or engagement session. Your gallery will include a mix of candid moments, details, and portraits.
9. Do you help with posing?
Yes. You don’t need any experience in front of the camera. I’ll provide simple direction when needed while keeping things relaxed and natural. My goal is to create photographs that feel genuine without making the session feel like one long photoshoot.
10. What should we wear for an engagement shoot?
Choose something that feels like you while keeping the location and season in mind. Neutral and complementary colours generally photograph well without distracting from the two of you. Once your session is booked, I’m also happy to help if you’re deciding between outfit options.
11. Can we choose our own location?
Absolutely. If you already have somewhere meaningful in mind, we can build the session around it. If you’re unsure where to go, I can recommend locations based on the look you’re after, the time of year, lighting, privacy, and the type of session you’re planning.
12. Do you travel outside of Windsor-Essex
Yes. I’m based in Windsor, Ontario and photograph sessions throughout Windsor-Essex, but I’m also available to travel. If you’re planning something outside the area, reach out with the location and I can provide any applicable travel details.
